How Weight Lifting Can Help Rheumatoid Arthritis

I found this info in an article and thought it would be extremely helpful.

By Donna Rae Siegfried

Lift weights with sore joints? Yeah, right. You might think weight lifting would make arthritis worse. But think again. The benefits of strength training for arthritis are just being recognized. Weight lifting can help people with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) function better and reduce soreness, stiffness and pain.

A study from Great Britain shows that a strength-training program called progressive resistance training (PRT) may improve physical function in people with mildly disabling, well-controlled RA. PRT involves periodically increasing the amount of weight used during an exercise so benefits continue as muscle strength improves.

I was glad to see this article because I was always told that strength training with arthritis would inflame the joints. Good news...it doesn't!!

New Sufferers are Starting To Notice

Last Friday night, I was feeling pretty bad (I was on my feet all day) and my knees were starting to hurt, and I had a meeting I had to be at later that night. While I was sitting there at the meeting, the owner of the home offered me some Monavie active (with glucosomine and esterified fatty acids) and in about 10 minutes, I started feeling the swelling coming out of my knees and the blood rushing back to my feet, and I felt much, much better when I left. I am still amazed after 2 years of drinking this juice, how it continues to change and heal my body through great nutrition. I was also talking to a man who started drinking it because of a broken hand, and it's starting to heal, but he said he noticed that his ankles stopped hurting now and he's started running now. What a great product.

Web MD

I was just talking to a few ladies on Web MD's message boards and I felt so bad because they sounded like me when I first got diagnosed with my arthritis and I didn't know what to do, or who to talk to (besides the doctors pushing pills). I posted this on Web MD for some advice for one lady. Hopefully she'll come visit me on this site and I can help her to make sure she doesn't suffer the same fate I did. Here's what I wrote: I am now 49, but was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis when I was 36. By the time I was finally able to get some help with my arthritis, I had too much damage, and I lost my cartilidge and had to end up having hip replacement surgery and ankle fusion. I don't expect that you will believe this, but my advice comes strictly from the heart. No one was there to help me, and I suffered alot. I started a blog for people like yourself, where we can talk about ideas and suggestions and get a dialogue started. It's www.aliciaowens111.blogspot.com. Seven months after I had my surgeries, my inflammation was still there and I felt like my surgery was unsuccessful. Then my sister who had lupus, told me about a juice called Monavie and my life changed after that. I was very skeptical about it, but I tried it. After about 2 weeks, I started feeling some relief. I have now been drinking it for a little over 2 years, and my life has changed dramatically. My shoulders used to be frozen from the joint damage, and I could barely raise my arms above my chest. Now I can just about get things down from the shelves. Also, I can now bend over to put my shoes on. The juice is completely natural. No herbs, just juice. It is the original acai berry (a natural anti-inflammatory). It also has 18 other fruits from the amazon rain forest. It's JUST juice. You might want to check out their webiste www.monavie.com. I know you're probably skeptical. I know I was. But it's what helped me, and it addressed my arthritis by getting rid of the free radicals in my body. The pills that docs were giving me were only masking the pain. The free radicals were still eating away at my joints, which is why I live now with alot of joint damage that will never get better. But I have my life back -- pain free!!! I hope you will check it out, so you can feel better. But if you just want to talk more one on one, let's talk on my blog. I just want to help others get better like I did. If you have any comments, please post them on my website and not my e-mail. I want the benefit of your comments to be shared by all. Thanx

CROCS ARE COMFORTABLE

On October 5th, my sister turned 40, and we danced the night away at her party she hosted this weekend. Yes I said WE. I was able to be on my feet all night celebrating. But also, all this week I have to be on my feet, and I needed to switch from my fashion sandals to some comfy shoes, and so I went to Macys, and they had a couple of pairs of Crocs sandals left from a previous sale. I tried them on and instantly fell in love. They are sooooo comfortable. And for those of you whose feet hurt all the time, or have bad ankles from arthritis, RUN, don't walk to go get some of these. And the best thing...they were on sale for $15.00!!!
My feet feel great!!

THIS REALLY HELPED MY HOT FLASHES!!!

I found a very safe natural treatment for menopause called Amberen. Amberen is a healthy choice for menopause. I was listening to the radio one day and heard about this commercial for menopause and was very interested. When it talked about getting rid of hot flashes, I called immediately and ordered it. I was having at least 7 to 10 hot flashes a day, where the water was dripping off of my face. The Amberen comes in a 3 month supply. I ordered my 3 month supply. Because I had such severe hot flashes, it took about 3 weeks before I started to see a difference.
After the third week, I was only having about 2 to 3 hot flashes a day. By the end of my third month I was down to approximately only 1 hot flash a day. But the great thing about that hot flash was that my face only got warm. No water dripping off of my face. Amberen is clinically tested and is better than using HRT (Hormone Replace Therapy) which can cause cancer after prolonged use.
Whether you are in the early stages of menopause or the advanced stages, Amberen can work for you. I swear by it, and have recommended it to plenty of people. For those of you who really are serious about dealing with this problem, the website is http://stopflashes.com/ Try it!!

ACT LIKE A LADY, THINK LIKE A MAN

All of you who are Steve Harvey fans and have heard of his book, "Act like a lady, think like a man", listen up!!! I checked out this book at Target but the book was $15.00 at the time, and I really didn't want to spend that much money. So I checked on the used book site ALIBRIS (see the link on my blog), and I found some brand new hard copies there for $12.99. Also there were some signed copies for $10.43 (not sure if they were used) and some issues for $10.00 (I think these are paperback).

New kitchen and coffee tables

Well, just as promised, I took a picture of not only the new kitchen set, but the coffee table I got, me and hubby worked out a deal with the store owner to throw the table in at a discount as a package deal. Now I just have to paint my kitchen walls...yikes!!!
